Update on the Game's State


Hello,  It's been a while.

TLWR: I got sidetracked by starting too many projects and have made little progress on any of them. I'm starting up work on this project again and hope to have an alpha version out soon.


Longer version:

I'm basically rewriting the game's code on my own right now to setup everything to use the same systems. As this was made for a game jam and we have 3 developers and 1 artist, we kind of just slapped a bung of systems together and then published it, and you can see how that turned out if you try to launch the game. Currently I'm re-doing all of the UI and systems to use events as a foundation. After that, I plan to work closely with one of the other developers and get a base version of the game goin before re-evaluating out overall goals for the project. We weren't exactly "ambitious" when we came up with this idea, but it wasn't a small project either.

So what's going to happen now?

I've been live streaming the development of this game over on twitch (TTV/TableTopRug)[https://www.twitch.tv/tabletoprug), and plan to continue developing it to at least get it to the base state we wanted it at during the game jam (fixing broken code apparently takes a lot longer than making working code form scratch, and I'm unfamiliar with unity).  Ill (hopefully) post an "alpha" build soon with the ability to make basic gameplay (biomes/biome bonuses, resource generation/management)  and then ill start working on the more advanced things like buildings, and resource harvesting (rather than generation). 

Not sure how long this will take, but this will basically be my first full-fledged game, so Ill keep working on it no matter how long it takes.
